Jeff Gordon has won four Nascar Cup championships, three Daytona 500′s and four Brickyard 400′s as well as many other races. Jeff Gordon has combined determination, hard work and decades of experience to achieve an unparalleled roster of victories. His legions of admirers are never disappointed by Jeff Gordon’s prowess behind the wheel of a racecar.

At the age of five, Jeff’s step father transformed an old park into a quick and dirty track for Jeff to train. His stepfather galvanized Jeff to be outstanding in all that he did which led to his love for racing and he exhibited an uncanny aptitude for the sport.

Before long the boy was racing quarter midgets and becoming quite the competitor. When Jeff was only 6, he won 35 races and set 5 records.

Jeff started becoming more and more interested in sprint cars as time went on noticing that they were much bigger, sturdier and had more strength. In sprint car races the driver has to be at least sixteen to compete and Jeff was only thirteen at the time, this posed an interesting dilemma. But Jeff and his family appealed to the insurance companies and their persistence paid off when Jeff was allowed to run in the All Star Florida Speedweeks. Jeff and his family moved to Indiana due to his incredible ability so that he could be trained in a popular sprint car area. Due to his incredible skill behind the wheel of the sprint cars and his youthfulness, Jeff became a popular figure nationally . Victory seemed easy for Jeff, he took many races at Bloomington Speedway and a title at Eldora Speedway.

It was difficult to find a spot in open-wheel racing, consequently Jeff attended a driving school at Rockingham Speedway, NC. Jeff’s introductory laps caused him to fall in love with stock cars and he made the decision at that moment to stick with them.

Jeff Gordon moved onto the Busch series in 1991 driving for Bill Davis. In his initial year in the Busch series, Jeff was awarded Rookie of the Year. Ray Evernham was hired in 1992 by Bill Davis and Nestle sponsored the car.

In 1992, the Busch series ran their first race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. . Rick Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports was very impressed. Jeff Gordon has gone on to become a true champion and a valued member of Rick Hendrick Motorsports.
